Sanskar joined Neuro-Bio in September 2022 for a placement as Student Scientist. Sanskar’s time at Neuro-Bio will sadly be ending this week.
This is what he said about his time at Neuro-Bio and his experience:

“I am a final year integrated master’s student at University of Glasgow studying Neuroscience, and did my industrial placement year as student scientist at Neuro-Bio Ltd. What initially drove me to apply to Neuro-Bio was the disruptive approach it took to explaining Alzheimer’s, and all the interesting work being done to understand and explain dementia. During my placement year, I did a lot of work using molecular biology techniques to characterise the intracellular pathways activated by Alzheimer’s toxin T14, and also contributed to the development of the company’s backup pipeline of drugs. Throughout the year, I have grown and learned a lot of lab techniques and the ability to plan experiments, which has been an invaluable experience for me at this stage in my career. I feel a lot more prepared as a scientist now than I did before my placement. I have also gained a lot of interpersonal skills, including presentation, communication, and scientific writing abilities. I would like to thank Baroness Greenfield and Dr. Garcia-Rates for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to work for Neuro-Bio Ltd., and to all the senior scientists and interns for sharing my failures and successes with me. I am a lot more prepared going into my final year, knowing I can now appreciate the scientific process and critically analyse data, none of which would have been possible without my placement year. I truly think that deciding to do a placement at Neuro-Bio ltd. has been the best decision I took during my studies, and hope that this experience is equally beneficial to others who wish to embark their scientific career at Neuro-Bio Ltd.”

Neuro-Bio wishes Sanskar all the best for his future and thanks him for the hard work displayed during his time with us!
