Baroness Professor Susan Greenfield, CBE
CEO and Founder
Tim is a chartered accountant with many years’ experience acting as a CFO or Finance Director for a number of different companies in a variety of business sectors. Tim qualified as a chartered accountant in 1991 in London and in the same year he left practice to join The Britt Allcroft Group Limited (subsequently renamed Gullane Entertainment plc) on the South Coast which owned the IP rights over Thomas the Tank Engine. Over the next ten years, he was a key member of the senior management team that floated the media company in 1996 onto the main market of the London Stock Exchange and grew the business significantly thereafter through a mixture of internal growth and a succession of acquisitions including the purchase of Guinness World Records for approximately £45m from Diageo. After leaving Gullane in 2001, Tim worked initially as an independent consultant, advising and in some cases investing in companies in the publishing, IT, telecoms and media sectors. Tim co-founded his own firm of Chartered Accountants (Avonglen Limited) in 2003 with two other partners based on Southampton Science Park and currently provides CFO services to a small portfolio of mainly technology based businesses.
