Job Description

Neuro-Bio Limited is a small and dynamic biotech company based at the Culham Science Centre near Abingdon, Oxfordshire. Our goal is to discover and develop novel therapeutic and diagnostic products with an initial focus on Alzheimer’s disease. Activities are based in our own premises of about 5,000 sq ft including an open-plan office area and laboratories.

We are seeking an efficient and enthusiastic office manager with exceptional administrative and communication skills, as well as flexibility in covering a wide range of duties (see below for more details). The successful candidate will be effectively the public-facing representative of the company, both in person, in phone and Zoom calls, and as coordinator of our website and social media.

Qualifications/ Expertise

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills across any medium (phone, email, social media)
  • Smart appearance and courteous manner
  • Collaborative, with a positive and open-minded attitude
  • Good organization skills to manage and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work proactively and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Office and Administrative Duties:

  • Acting as primary contact for all incoming communication (phone and email)
  • Meeting and greeting visitors on arrival
  • Organizing visitor passes and explaining security procedure
  • Ensuring office and coffee area is kept clean
  • Collecting and opening posts daily and dealing with matters should they require attention
  • Making bookings for accommodation and travel arrangements for visitors or travelling employees
  • Organizing lunches and dinners for in-house events
  • Any other reasonable duties you may be asked to carry out from time to time

Technology/ Website and PR:

  • Being responsible for daily maintenance and update of the website and social media
  • Liaising with suppliers for any PR materials that the Company needs as it grows i.e. business cards, booklet, photos, logos, etc.
  • Being the first point of contact for the IT service company (BDR) and booking for server update
  • Keeping track of contract communications

Human Resources:

  • Liaising as the first point of contact with the company’s HR advisors
  • Organizing Starter and Leaver administration
  • Responsible for the employee induction process
  • Keeping lab promotional materials and notices up to date
