On Monday 14th April, Neuro-Bio (www.neuro-bio.com) hosted a joint lunchtime Innovation session at their HQ with UKAEA Innovation team at the Culham Campus. The CEO, Baroness Professor Susan Greenfield shared her personal journey and the opportunities and challenges she’s encountered in translating her 20 years of academic expertise into entrepreneurial progress.
She offered valuable insights drawn from her experience – starting as a leading expert at Oxford University to now Founder of Neuro-Bio, where their mission is to pioneer a first-in-class approach to treating Alzheimer’s disease.
Since its initiation in 2013, Neuro-Bio has built a passionate and committed team of scientists, management, and board members. To date, the company has registered 22 patents and continues to push the boundaries of neurodegenerative research.
The year 2025 has already marked an exciting time for Neuro-Bio, with a growing number of potential investors engaging in discussions to support and advance the company’s pipeline.
To conclude the session, a fireside chat with Susan Greenfield, Justin Kingsford (COO) and Heather Lewtas (Head of Innovation) from UKAEA took place. Justin and Heather offered valuable perspectives on collaboration, innovation, and the future of scientific research. The discussion sparked insightful questions from a highly engaged audience, representing a broad range of disciplines across the campus.
Justin commented, ‘It was very informative and inspiring for me and the wider Innovation team, and we really enjoyed meeting all of your colleagues at Neuro-Bio. I do hope that we can continue these connections at a number of levels, and I have some ideas on the back of the visit as to how we can mutually support each other (as part of a wider development of the whole eco-system landscape at Culham).”
Neuro-Bio looks forward to continuing conversations and building connections with organisations across the Culham Campus. The team thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to network during the event and appreciated the enthusiasm and engagement from all who attended.
Culham Campus is a launchpad for innovation, where companies like Neuro-Bio thrive through collaboration, cutting-edge research, and welcoming community.
